We're excited to introduce to you our new 6-week Fall progressive course to take you from zero experience to knowing various acroyoga moves and flows! 

Join us this Fall for 6 weeks of Acroyoga - fall in love with this activity the way we did years ago, and discover a whole new world of fun, play, connection, exercise, balance, and challenge! 

Each class is adapted to suit the level of the group. We start easy and build on moves and flows to expand your skills and abilities!

What to expect:

  • Get a good workout (without even noticing!)
  • Naturally improve your strength, balance, and flexibility
  • Easily make new friends (we practice in groups of 3-4 people)
  • Have lots of fun
  • Learn new poses, skills, moves, flows
  • Learn how to play and practice acroyoga safely and confidently
  • Learn key terminology to talk about the moves with others
  • Become a part of a warm, welcoming, and diverse community
How it works:

1. Once you purchase this pass, it will be added to your account and you will be able to start reserving your spot in our classes! As for the 2nd person, just email us their name and email address and we will assign the pass to them!

2. Start booking your classes! Go to Our Schedule page and select the classes you want to attend! You have 6 weeks to attend any of our Beginner classes during this progressive. Each week we will have a different set of classes for you! Register for any Beginner class between September 15th and October 20th for this series.

3. You have flexibility with when and where you attend classes! We are running beginner classes in Mount Pleasant (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays) and Downtown Vancouver (Thursdays, Sundays).

4. Make sure to reserve your spots ahead of time to secure your spots! Each person has to reserve for themselves, you cannot reserve a spot for two people. So make sure to tell your buddy to log-in and reserve their spots in the same classes as you if you wish to attend together.

You can attend as many of the classes listed below during the 6 weeks! Come once a week, or 5 times a week! Some class content will repeat on certain days, and some classes will be different. You will either get more practice with the moves you already learned that week, or learn something new! And we can always make it harder and more exciting if you want an extra challenge.

  • Tuesday 6:00 - 7:30 pm in Mount Pleasant (341 East Broadway 'Capoeira Ache Brasil' studio)
  • Wednesday 7:30 - 9:00 pm in Mount Pleasant (341 East Broadway 'Capoeira Ache Brasil' studio)
  • Thursdays 6:00 - 7:30 pm in Downtown Vancouver (677 Davie St, The Dance Centre)
  • Saturdays 2:00 - 3:30 pm in Mount Pleasant (341 East Broadway 'Capoeira Ache Brasil' studio)
  • Sundays 12:00 - 1:30 pm in Downtown Vancouver (677 Davie St, The Dance Centre)
Once you buy a pass you'll be able to reserve spots in any of these classes (and we recommend you do).  But it's also okay to reschedule, cancel, or reserve classes anytime and you can do this through the website.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I can't make it to one of the classes? No problem. We have lots of classes available and your pass allows you unlimited access to beginner classes, so just join any of the other classes during the duration of your pass. Make sure to pre-register to reserve your spot.  

What is Acroyoga? Acroyoga is a form of partner yoga made more playful by the influence of acrobatics. Practicing acroyoga involves finding static poses and moving through flows with a Base, a Flyer, and most importantly, a Spotter. The Base elevates the Flyer off the ground in these poses, and the Spotter keeps everybody safe and in proper alignment. Acroyoga is super fun and develops not only strength, flexibility, and balance, but also your communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills! It's non-competitive and allows for people to work together to achieve a pose or a sequence of poses in a safe, enjoyable, lighthearted way!

What you get/what you’ll learn: In this 6-week progressive course, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques for Basing, Flying, and Spotting. You’ll start with static poses, and complete the series with the ability to connect these moves into dynamic flows. Enjoy learning new skills and tricks with new and old friends, take photos, laugh, and tumble safely. We're here to facilitate, teach, and support you in every way in this practice!

Who is Acrowest? AcroWest Movement Society is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization run by the local Acroyoga community and is committed to creating happy, healthy, connected humans through movement in a safe and welcoming environment. We've been running classes in Vancouver for over 4 years and have a team of talented, experienced, and kindhearted teachers who love Acroyoga and are passionate about teaching. Everything you contribute to us goes into building and growing this community and offering more classes, more locations, and more teaching opportunities. Do I need to bring a partner? No, you don’t need a partner. You’ll get a chance to work with many different people in the class and to be a part of groups of 3 or 4. We will put you in groups and there will be many opportunities to switch and work with new people.

Can I come with a partner and work only with them? Yes, if you want to stick with the same person or group, just let your teachers know!

What do I wear and bring? Wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving in, and bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated. You can bring a yoga mat if you have one, but we will have extras at the studio.

Do I need any experience? What if I’m not flexible/strong/athletic? You don’t need any experience. We have taught many absolute beginners and they were amazed at what they could do! Wherever your starting point is, we will meet you there and teach you the foundations. While flexibility and strength help, it is absolutely not required. Many people come to try acroyoga having never done any yoga or movement before. All are welcome!

What's your refund policy? We understand that sometimes life happens, so your pass is 100% refundable (even after the course starts).  If for any reason you need a refund (or anything else) please just let us know.  We want you to be completely happy with your purchase.
